Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Java EE (EJB), Spring, and JPA to maintain and extend their in-house EMR/PMS system.  Their team supports over 60 medical practices in multiple states.

Candidate Requirements

The applicant must meet the following requirements:

Required Skills:

• Solid experience with Java EE (EJB) / Spring / JPA / Hibernate.
• SQL skills are required.   Client uses Postgres, but will consider experience with other relational databases such as Oracle, MySql, MSSQL, etc.
• Experience developing Swing UIs is highly preferred
• Strong foundation with OO design and development.   An understanding of “GoF” principles.
• A belief in Test Driven Development.
• Build automation experience - Ant, Maven, Ivy, Gradle, etc.
• CI Build experience - Hudson, Bamboo, Continuum, CruiseControl, etc.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience developing Swing UIs.
• Experience with Grails or other Java based frameworks. Candidates with other Java based frameworks will be considered.
• Web 2.0 development skills:

1. HTML
2. CSS
3. Javascript
4. AJAX
5. ExtJS
6. jQuery

• Linux shell skills a plus (Ubuntu/Bash/Perl).

Education:

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree required or will consider equivalent work experience.
